How do I post a picture into a thread?

Hello more experienced members,

I was trying to post a picture onto a thread. I went to attach files and when I uploaded the file, it said it was too big. It needs to be 50kb or something? I took some pictures of a football box with my cellphone and saved it to my computer drive through dropbox. Now I am completely ignorant on anything technological, so what do I have to do? Or is there anything I even can do (to reduce the size or bytes of a picture?). Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

    I would recommend opening up a Photobucket account at www.photobucket.com and after uploding your pic, you just copy and paste the IMG URL from their site onto your post.

    ahh 1980...78 and 79 were .30 originally

    You'll want to uncheck "Link back to albums" so you don't get the URLs with the photo.

    Where do I uncheck that particular box to eliminate the link back to photos? Is that in photo bucket or on this thread? Thanks for all the info gentlemen. I'm just a rookie. And not a very good one at that...

    Also, the "search" function is really helpful on these boards. You can find info on almost anything there, including this! Some great old threads to read when you're bored.

    I can imagine this board is full of information! Thanks again for your help. I definitely do read the boards when I have a free moment, but I'll remember the search feature.

    No problem hijacking the thread, but I sure can't help you. I'm a rookie at this. Maybe you should create your own thread, because no one will probably look at this one anymore assuming my problem was solved...Good luck!

    I believe this is still the way it works: You can change your avatar and use any of the photos that are currently available at any time. HOWEVER, if you want to upload your own photo, it can be done only on the 15th of each month.
