  • Someone go back in time and tell this guy icksney on the rubberbanderey image Cool pic !
  • Is that a 52 mantle in the album he's holding in right hand aggressively?
Looks like the mantle first card for left with the glare

That sure looks like a mantle. I think those are Connie Mack all stars in the middle. Maybe a full set of 1948 leaf on the right. Wow!

meh Mantle looks O/C top to bottom

j/k very very cool. shows how it's amazing ANY high grade cards are available now from even the 50s when "collectors" back then still kept them in big rubber band stacks.

I don't think that is Mantle.

I do see a 1970 Clemente and 1963 Spahn though

That is the 1951 Topps Connie Mack set in the middle for sure. Wow that makes me sick seeing those cards rubber banded together.

  • I imagine this may be the last reported sighting of a card dealer in a suit and tie.

    Cool picture.

But imagine how many corners he "dung" on those 1952 topps as he was inserting them into those corner sleeve holders in that album or how many rubber band marks are on thoss 60's cards. In fact, I think a number of my 1960s cards may have come from this guy as they have notches on sides.

Dude is a little creepy looking, but that may be the result of the 70s suit, hair, etc. Looks like his other hobby could be a serial killer.

Great pic! My only question, clip-on or do you think he actually tied that tie?

From what I hear this guy currently represents the average age and pigmentation of a National attendee.
  • I believe this is the father of Wes Spece.

Those cards in the middle and right look to be stuck to a photo album - and probably still are

    Awesome pic!!

He's got a 1970 Roberto Clemente on the top of a stack, getting all the rubber band abuse.

Was there a caption or explanation attached to the photo explaining the purpose/significance of the photo?

I wonder if Eric Lange is the same one mentioned in this 2012 article from The National Convention?

Think you may be right IMF...I saw that article as well and especially the line:

"Eric Lange, who’d run a long series of large-lot auctions of off-condition cards back in the day"

With 'off-condition' perhaps meaning 'with rubber band marks' image
