Toned 1928 Japan 50 sen

Year 3 (1928) Japanese 50 Sen piece.

Fiery orange-to-gold obverse with a small pool of jade and ruby at the center.

Mellow steel silver reverse with a periphery of the same orange & brown seen on the obverse.

Beautiful cartwheel luster under both sides.

The early 2000-era gold edition PCI slab actually sets the color off nicely.

And AU50? Seriously? There is no rub, no wear anywhere on this piece. I wouldn't hesitate to call her MS63.

I don't really need it, but for fifteen bucks I wouldn't turn it down. Neat little coin.

Give somebody else a chance at it first, but if nobody takes it, PM me, and I will.

  • PM sent. I am familiar with pre-WWII Japanese coins yet don't know much about this TPG. AU-50 seems undergraded if the pictures are correct. Would like to have it in hand to better evaluate. John
