Are BCCG slabs trustworthy?

Obviously, you have to read the actual wording under the numerical grade, but are the cards usually legit as far as authenticity and unaltered? Just curious what reason(s) would cause someone to get that grading as opposed to BGS or BVG. Is it solely to "hypnotize" the unsuspecting buyer into buying a high numbered grade? Or are there cost savings or some other reasons that someone would have it graded BCCG? I ask this mainly because there was a recent thread with some BCCG crackouts that came backs as 10's and 9's. Thanks, Tom

I think in general you can expect BCCG cards to grade lower by 2 grades. Having said that I have seen some that look very nice and might actually grade within a 1/2 grade or equal the grade on the card. I have not yet tried to buy one one and get it PSA graded but may do it at some point. I think if you have a trained eye you might be able to pick up a very nice card at a very nice price. Having said that I would be nervous spending big money on a BCCG card. It just seems to me that if it is a high-end card that the seller would most likely get it graded by one of the Big 3. I would be worried about the card being altered. Just my 2 cents.

There have been a ton of threads on this topic over the years.

Here is the most recent one with a decent number of responses.

I prefer BCCG cards over PSA.

IT CAN'T BE A TRUE PLAYOFF UNLESS THE BIG TEN CHAMPIONS ARE INCLUDED

When did BCCG or PSA start printing cards?

First we have to decide where to build this plant.

    How about fantasy land.
