I don't think the price is insane: Link and wouldn't be surprised if they sell for around 75% of that. I don't recall any 72 high numbers going for less than $10 each in any condition.

The lot linked above was a very nice lot. Huge Stars in that lot and the worst conditioned card would beat the best in the auction I am talking about. I have collected the '72 set for well over a decade and I have never seen so many Hi Series looking like that in one place. I have seen a couple in a set here and there but this is crazy. Looking at the corners my guess is this guy got a hold of a few packs and took a gamble and got royally screwed.
It still doesn't make sense when you can buy the full high series from Fritsch, of all places, at a comparable price. People bid way too much for the 72 FB hi's.

Poor pictures of the individual cards. The price he is asking is TOTALLY INSANE!
Either way they get a qualifier.
