OT: smell the flowers, almost missed it

I'm a runner and looking forward to my next big race coming off some stupid injuries. Well, today I ran for an hour and it was tough..really tough..didn't think I'd make it but felt I just had to with all my strength. Just so happens with 4 minutes left the most recent meaningful song popped up on the 200 song shuffle, which pushed me...I finished the full hour..and I looked down at my mileage..couldn't believe how well I did. 7.34. I started walking and realized I just ended my run with Dear Agony by Breaking Benjamin and distance for my favorite baseball and football player of all time mantle, payton. So glad I paid attention, or maybe I'm just crazy..either way, sure was cool in that moment and wanted to share..maybe someone else has had those kinda cool moments..

Congrats ... as a fellow runner I too can relate to how that special song or special thought can get you to the finish line ... no matter how short or long the run/race. Glad you had what turned out to be a nice run.

Been there done that regarding the stupid injuries! Great job on the run, better pace than I could muster image. I have experienced some of those runner's highs and cyclists' highs myself. As you say, it helps to enjoy the scenery and the moment while it lasts. Extra cool with the reference to Mantle and Payton.
