2015 $5 Mintstate Gold Eagle Pricing

Ladies and Gents:
I have been noticing the 7-8 and even 900.00 prices the 2015 $5 Mintstate Gold Eagle narrow reed coins have been bringing on ebay and even privately. I have sent some inquiries to both PCGS and NGC asking if these coins will be a line item requirement to the registry or if they will be an either/or thing. I have recieved a relayed message from Cosetta Robbins from PCGS and she states that at this time there is no intention of making this anything but a variation and it will be an either/or coin--meaning that either coin (wide & narrow variety) will fill the registry requirement for that particular coin. As yet I have had no word from NGC on this.
I think there will be some sick people if this becomes the case for both registries as the prices are sure to tank IMHO.
BTW is there any confirmed reason how this coin came to be?
