Strongsville Ohio show

saw an ad on Net54, and a few old threads on here. Anyone have feedback from last year? Is it worth traveling to? one day, or multi day?

  • I go to it every year. It's a half hour drive for me. It's hit and miss imo. I did pick up a 1979 OPC box for 225 there last year but little else
    It never leaves you...
  • Its OK, not like the old one but they had some nice stuff. There was one dealer who had a bunch of unopened from the earl 1980's, it wasn't BBCE but I bought some and it was fine. There was also a lot of vintage available, high and low grade. I would travel a couple of hours for it for sure but I'm only an hour away.

Its a great show for vintage. Modern not so much. You will not need multiple days like a National.

I live close and go every year, the show had a lull a few years back but has gotten much better. I also know Paul Fusco who is running the show and have participated in his auctions, he usually has a table with items that will be in his next auction on site. Always stop to see Jack (Jack's cards). He has a lot of inventory and is willing to take time with you.....many of the other dealers are local but there are a number of out of state folks who show. Also there is plenty of hotels available and the Southpark mall is within walking distance if you want to do some shopping. Noticed the comment about not much modern but I remember the back wall having a dealer from the westside who had nothing but modern wax.....can't remember name but he was there with a lot of supplies also. Last thing to say is you probably could go one day and see just about everything you want to see, it's not the National.....

I recall they used to have some sport stars, ex-buckeyes for signing.
many many yrs ago i lived 5 minutes from it but never attended...they prob should have advertised a bit more. I placed there for a brief transitory job and would have attended every show.

for those with any interest current and former buckeyes are usually set up at the Ohio State Fair. My daughter has been down there the last two years as part of the Ohio State Fair Marching band and is going again this year so I've been there two years in a row.....hard to believe since I'm going to be 63 that those were the first two times I went.....anyways current buckeyes were there the last two years signing with anything they received going to a charity....also Pete Johnson, Mo Clarett and a few others were there last year set up signing for a fee.....if my memory is correct the fair this year is last week of July but don't quote me on that.......

it's not the ohio state marching band, the band that performs at the state fair is the HIGH SCHOOL all state marching band.....and no they don't do the osu doting of the "I".....would be nice but they perform on the fair grounds where there is no room for that routine...... funny you mention that though, my daughter has osu as one of the schools she is thinking about going to next year....she already has been accepted into their honors program but can't decide if she wants to go there, Ohio U or Pittsburgh.....she is considering Pitt because she can try out for their band. She plays flute which they don't have at OSU or OU but do have in the Pitt marching band
