Dear Collectors Universe Forum Members:

Due to the volume of posts made each day, Charlie and myself are unable to monitor everything that happens on these boards so Collectors Universe will be implementing member moderators for the forums. We are looking for approximately 3 moderators for each forum who will have the ability to edit, move or delete messages and threads.

At this time we are asking for nominations and volunteers. When all the names have been submitted, we will contact those nominated to verify they would like to participate and then we will hold a vote via a poll.

Please send an e-mail or private message to Charlie or Carol with your nominations by June 3, 2002.
Please be sure to specify which forum you are nominating or volunteering for.

Thank you for helping us keep these forums a great place to talk and trade.

    i think june third is too far away, and that maybe a two day nomination period would be much better suited. this is a trading forum, not a grafitti wall, and i am tired of having to pick through obscene and hateful posts to get to legitimate traders. please act sooner. josh

    He's not crazy. He may express himself differently.
    He wants the same thing as the majority of the people who have contacted me. A nice place to talk and trade without having to weed through the foul language and junk.

    What are the requirements? I think that the people who would like to be it should have to be over 18 years of age because of the maturity factor. They also need to be impartial when making choices and shouldn't atomatically become moderators. They should have a test period. I nomiate duncangal also even though I thinkn she will decline.

    We will be reviewing the nominations prior to any voting. I'm sure we will look in to the person past posting history among other things.
    At this time we think moderators should switch out, if needed, every 2-3 months.

    Ok what about the age question? I don't think a 13 or 12 year old should be controling the board. That could become really bad. Thanks

    Even though I'm 16 I also agree AND DISAGREE with the topic about over 18. Sure there mature, but I know younger traders that are more mature then older people. Also youngins don't have that much responsibilty and would be able to be more active on the board. But further-more.. there are a lot of immature people out there.

    I do have to agree with Jason on this. I've seen grown men (over 18) go off the edge more than once here.

    i also at first applied for the job but alreayd withdrew myself as i realized that being a mod of CE AND CU might cuz some disagreements about me between members here and there...

    I think by now that most of each know about how old each other are. I would think that people who would be interested in the position would just say how old they are. If you aren't proposing an age limit I would be interested. I look at the board alot and I am on at different times then you usually. Would help give a more widespread time. I even get on early in the morning sometimes. If you are requiring people to be over 18 then I am out cause I am only 17. Thanks and have a nice day carol.

    Not to be at all rude, but I know some people are nominating duncangal, and while she is a great person, I think we need to be careful abou nominating someone who might be OVERLY sensitive and too quick to remove posts. We don't want a police state, just a slightly cleaner forum. Joyce I say this in no way as a slight towards you, I just know that you get easily offended.

    Carol,we sent you a PM with our nominations!Thanks for what you & CU are doing to rid this forum of the foulmouthed nimrods.
    It is nice to see that one of the reformed foulmouths is dead set against me being a moderator;that just goes to show you the system CU has really does work!!
    The people we nominated, we feel, will be vigilant like us to make sure this forum stays protected from the "trolls" that find thier way to this great forum.Please note,we will continue to help you & whoever the new moderators are to keep this forum the best on the net.

    Lmao,, This is going to cause some major fights..I can see that already...If it's anyone other than duncangal it's a waste of time...She's the only one of us who has'nt ever gotten sucked into the nastiness that happens here...Other than her the only other person i can think of is haliguy..But all the nonsense drove him from the board a long time ago..Somebody should email him and get him back...

    I think past posts should be checked very thouroughly even maybe restore the archives cause there are some names being nominated who have'nt had trouble lately but has a past history of threatening to fly to peoples homes to go one on one.(Crum)..

    I also think all the 12 and 14 year olds who are tripping over themselves to volunteer/be nominated should be disqualified...Common sense says it has to an adult and the only one of us adults here who qualifies is duncangal..And maybe woodson24kg..They trade they talk they never get sucked into the nonsense..

    I to am changing my old ways of getting into the crap post. Although, I have not posted almost AT ALL on those kind of posts. I still have a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG way to go. So now AI3 I am not tripping over myself (I think), I am risingimage. So in NO WAY would I like this job, because 1st of all I would rather spend my free time outside with my friends. And second of all, I am in no way capable of handling these, as Bobstar calls it, "nimrods" that are just looking for trouble and don't even know the word "trade".

    u know what i find funny... Mr. Rogers can sit there and insult other people and make "jokes" (they really aren't funny, but since he laughs at them, i guess i should call them jokes...) and it seems to be ok... he calls people "nimrods" and "foulmouths" and indirectly pointing fingers at people, but for him, it's A-OK... Mr. Rogers is the biggest hypocrite on this board and if he gets to be a moderator, this board will truly SUCK... i have never ever said this board sucks before, but he's a joke to life... i completely agree with Mike, if it's not duncangal and duncangal ONLY, this will be a waste of time... she doesn't put up with sh!t, but yet she will allow more freedom thatn Mr. Rogers over there... THE WAR IS OVER BOB - get a life!!!!

    That is the whole reason for the moderators is to insure these fools
    that try to spew thier street filth here won't be able to in the future.The more people in an official capacity to help the great traders on this forum the better it will be.
    For all the violaters of CU policy,just be aware your vile filth is NO LONGER going to be tolerated here!!
    The system CU has in place DOES work as is evident with some of the reformed foulmouths & with the moderators it is only going to be BETTER for all those great traders that want to Buy/Sell/Trade Sports & NOT be subjected to the mindless dribble of these fools.
