Scanning Refractors - looking for tips using a EPSON V370

I can't seem to get refractors to scan well on this machine? Anyone have any luck? Care to share your settings? Is there a scanner that is very good with refractors?

It's an issue with the scanner. The light set-up produces streaks/uneven lighting and is true of all Epsons that I have seen. There isn't a setting that will avoid the problem.

+1 - The scanner is fantastic (I have an earlier model - V300) but its not good for the newer shiny stuff.

I started a thread about this a few weeks ago, asking a similar question. Good to know about Epsons, because I have a V37. As Doug said, they are good scanners, but mine does leave refractors and chrome surfaces looking dark grey. Small print like chrome-colored serial numbers basically disappear in my scans.

Does anyone know of a scanner that does "shiny stuff" well? That was the question I asked in my original thread, but nobody seemed to know.

While I'd rather use a scanner, refractors come out well with my Android.
