Abner Doubleday Autograph

I'm hoping someone here can help me on this. My uncle passed away a few months ago, and my aunt and cousins are now starting to go through all his things. He has a pretty good memorabilia collection with some great and rare autographs. I know the value of most of those, but among them is a letter signed by Abner Doubleday. I don't know how he obtained it, or the context of the letter but I wouldn't doubt it's authenticity based on the rest of his collection.

Does anyone have any idea what something like that may be valued at? I don't have a picture of it, I'm just trying to help out my family. Can't imagine that many of these exist.

The two that recently sold on ebay look like they went for $335.59 & $425.00, auction, not BIN.
