I can't believe the day is already here --- today I turn the big 3-5...

As crazy as this is to believe, today I reach a big milestone in my life. Today I turn the big 3-5, and not only that, but this June 17, will also be me and my wife's tenth anniversary (plus we have a darling little boy named Jamiee (disclaimer; he happens to go meow meow); sadly our little girl Tweetie went to kitty heaven a few years ago )! While I am certainly proud to have gotten as far in my card collection so far it is of course rather modest compared to a lot of collections I've seen here and there is so much I want to do; I hope especially to do a PSA 7 based 1975 and 1974 Topps set (I'd love to go even further back, especially 1971 but I don't know if we'll ever be rich enough to do so), get the last few PSA 7's/8's to finish my 1976-79 sets as shown below and finish my 90s insert set collection.
And of course, I'm also proud of my two bachelor's degrees from UK (BA History, BA Political Science), as well as helping my wife get her second master's degree (Kaplan, criminal justice; she aced all but one of her courses too!) a few years back. After working as a grocery cashier 2004-10 as well as a short stint at a local factory in early 2011, I sadly was not only forced to go on disablity (long story; my wife has been severely disabled both physically/mentally from the start of our marriage) but also serve as my wife's 24/7 caregiver (luckily I'm still fit as a fiddle physically, mentally/emotionally, eh, not so much) and let me tell ya, it's not as easy as it may look!!
While like all of us I have no clue for sure what the future brings (let's just say I would've never guessed I'd be at this point today back in my college days if you get what I mean), I hope above all else to continue to be the best caregiver/husband as well as the best kitty parent (man's REAL best friend you know; let's just say I like those kind of cats as well as the kind that play b-ball!) I can be.

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.

<< <i>I'm into (retro) video games as well and not too long ago 35 was ancient for a gamer (and there is still so much more I want to experience on the gaming side as well as card collecting); yes I'm well aware of the "you can't take it with you" cliche but remember it's also about the journey and memories you create too.
I wish I was 21 or 25 again! >>
Happy birthday, I will have 12 years on ya in a couple of weeks . My son is 11 and within the past year he has definitely lapped me on the video game front. We have an XBox One and a Wii U. I try to play against him in Injustice on the Wii U (superheroes and villains in 1-vs-1 fights) and he just kicks my butt. Games like Titanfall or Call of Duty just move too fast for me. Talk about feeling old! And I used to be quite the "vidiot" back in the day.
Have a great one, enjoy collecting, and here's to you and yours for all the things you do for your family.
(Edit for spelling)
its all down hill from here though, the next 10 years will fly by, twice as fast as the last 10.
Happy Birthday!
It sounds like you are good husband so hopefully your wife makes this a special birthday to remember.
Not certain what kind of illness's plauge her but it doesn't sound good.
Happy birthday.

35 years ago i was sitting in my living room watching MT. St. Helens explode all over my tv.
<< <i>Happy Birthday Estil, funny, but I remember when you got married and when you got
one of those degrees. >>
I actually got both in the same semester (May 10, 2003) And it just so happens the borders of the Topps set that year are UK blue! And on top of that we had a player named Marquis Estill (extra 'L" but pronounced just like my name) during my time there!

Saw where you collect 70's like I do as well, and since you are a UK fan what kind of UK stuff do you collect? Might know someone who has extra UK stuff laying around....
Currently collecting 1934 Butterfinger, 1969 Nabisco, 1991 Topps Desert Shield (in PSA 9 or 10), and 1990 Donruss Learning Series (in PSA 10).
<< <i>Happy bday(belated since I just saw this thread), and hopefully you get to celebrate #9 in two weeks! UK fans know what this means.

You being a Dolphins fan you should know all about your team running the table...won't that be so cool dudeish for us to do that? We just can't end up like the 2007 Patriots; that'd be such a humiliating waste...
As for UK stuff I'd love to have a copy of all the 80s/90s Cats Pause issues (the annual pre-season yearbook we've done, if you can believe this, since I was born), I guess just let me know via PM? The 1988 UK Collegiate Collection set to go with my 1989 set; I bet some 1978 championship stuff would be cool as well... I'm very much into the history of our program (especially Rupp and Hall administrations).
