Maybe it was your statement to PGCS that got the ball rolling.
Is it true you keep your mercs in a tackle box ? Just Kiddin
Walt
It is TRUE.
The Darn thing is getting Pretty Beat up as the Kids do not know Merc's are Stored Under the Lures.
Ken
by the way, thank you, it came in todays mail!

Did You Throw It at the Table to see if it would Recoil like a Rubber Ball ???
The Old PO was fast also. They amaze Me Sometimes with the Slowness and Quickness. Sort of like PCGS.No Consistency.

To Answer Your Question I DO NOT KNOW .
Ken
Yes, you can have a dime in your Basic set and use it in the Variety set as well. If you meet stringent criteria, we'll let you register it in a hallowed Type set or two or three.
If you register two sets in the same category, you must have different coins in the sets.
Given your post about PCGS yesterday, I strongly urge PCGS to confiscate one of your dimes and then send it to me
But I have another question about the Basic set--do I have to transfer the coins (via their PCGS certification numbers) or will PCGS do it for us? Type collectors can feel free to answer my question.
Mark
The way I read the News page, BJ will transfer all sets to the Basic set, and then if you want to keep the Variety set, let her know.
Been Busy With Lure Posts and Type Set Guy Posts. Much More Important than Registry Problems.
Ken
and My 19S Merc is not in the Set Yet.
Been Busy with the "Iam a Fool" post's also. As I figured the PCGS Coin Forumn Folks Do Not Respond to Anything that Puts PCGS Down some. One Day they Will Learn that PCGS Graders AreNot all they are Jacked Up to be.
I hope I don't get a nose bleed
I know it won't last long, but was nice to be there atleast one day!
Congradulations to Ken, ever think you would be in that spot?
Pat
I'll Bet Some More Sets will be Added Now. Just a Gut Feeling now that a Person with Limited Means can Compete.
Sure would be neat if this Happens.
To answer the Question. No not on the PCGS Registries. Have had the #1 Set over at NGC since it started. Really cannot understand why more People do not Compete over there.
Ken
Through some creative planning I have been able to save part of my collection and I just had to hang on to the Mercs. See you soon in the new Non Variety, Basic set. I didn't like those proof eagles and proof sets as well as Mercs!
Far Out !!!
I for one was Not Happy when You had to Drop Out.
This Has Made My Morning.
WELCOME BACK !!
Ken
Glad that you were able to hang on to your Mercs!
We don't need no steenkin' '42/'41s!!! LOL

Good to see you back!
It will be good seeing you some day at a show, haven't seen you since high school. That's been over 30 years ago. Wish I'd started collecting merc's then would have been cheaper, I think??
Pat
I like the new NON-Variety set...

Pat, I have been running back and forth to Pgh lately, but didn't have time to say hello. Perhaps at the next big show there!
Rick the next large show here is in Oct 25th - 27th at the Monroeville expomart. the PAN show.
All are welcome to spend there money at my tables any one of the days
New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.
I was able to part with a bunch of other material and finesse some things. I never thought I would be so attached to the little ladys, but I guess I am. Anyway, I left at number 19 and came back at number 11. Thanks to all those folks who don't want to play in the Basic set!
I am sure I will find my usual place (around number 20) when all of this shakes out. It is great to be back among the best group of collectors around!
