        Hey Ken,
Maybe it was your statement to PGCS that got the ball rolling.

Is it true you keep your mercs in a tackle box ? Just Kiddin

Good Question. If PCGS stays like they were when You have 2 Sets Registered You Must have Different Dimes for each Set. If You could have the same Dimes what would be the Sense of having a Basic Set and a Variety Set ??

Leave it to a Type collector for the answer imageimageimage

Yes, you can have a dime in your Basic set and use it in the Variety set as well. If you meet stringent criteria, we'll let you register it in a hallowed Type set or two or three.

If you register two sets in the same category, you must have different coins in the sets.

Given your post about PCGS yesterday, I strongly urge PCGS to confiscate one of your dimes and then send it to me image

But I have another question about the Basic set--do I have to transfer the coins (via their PCGS certification numbers) or will PCGS do it for us? Type collectors can feel free to answer my question.

                        Mark,

The way I read the News page, BJ will transfer all sets to the Basic set, and then if you want to keep the Variety set, let her know.

I'll Bet Some More Sets will be Added Now. Just a Gut Feeling now that a Person with Limited Means can Compete.
Sure would be neat if this Happens.
To answer the Question. No not on the PCGS Registries. Have had the #1 Set over at NGC since it started. Really cannot understand why more People do not Compete over there.

Look out guys, I think the No Bands set is coming back. I have missed this great group of folks!

Through some creative planning I have been able to save part of my collection and I just had to hang on to the Mercs. See you soon in the new Non Variety, Basic set. I didn't like those proof eagles and proof sets as well as Mercs!

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone. I will be adding my set back tonight into the Basic set. Let the deep pocket folks compete for the extended set! I am looking forward to going to the next Baltimore show in June. I hope to see some of you there.

Pat, I have been running back and forth to Pgh lately, but didn't have time to say hello. Perhaps at the next big show there!

New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.

                                                  Thanks Kranky,

I was able to part with a bunch of other material and finesse some things. I never thought I would be so attached to the little ladys, but I guess I am. Anyway, I left at number 19 and came back at number 11. Thanks to all those folks who don't want to play in the Basic set!

I am sure I will find my usual place (around number 20) when all of this shakes out. It is great to be back among the best group of collectors around!
