advice on Jordan PSA 9 1986-87 Fleer rookie

Am looking to buy a Michael Jordan rookie and really like this one

Any advice on this card, or where I might find one nicely-centered?

I'm not a fan of the case on that one. It looks like both bottom corners are missing chunks of plastic.

The card looks pretty good, but the yellow splotch of PD in the lower right of the photo would keep me looking for a better example.

    Edit: Correct spelling

there are a fair amount of these that still come up on ebay, i'd be patient and not mess around within anyone wanting a 5K BIN price. that picture is a little fuzzy too, can't really see the corners as well as i'd like.

the centering is very nice though. Just be patient and take your time looking on ebay and buy from a reputable seller. You should be able to get one in the high $2s that you are happy with.

That yellow spot jumped out at me as well image. I'd pass, but that's just me.

This seems like a pretty clean 9 other than the yellow PD mentioned. I made a strong offer on it last week and was auto-declined. I messaged the seller asking what he was seriously looking for and he replied 3995. With the yellow spot, this likely has no shot to bump to 10. Like shu said, if you are patient, you should be able to acquire one you like in the 2s.

I agree with those that the card is not rare and perhaps overpriced in general.

I've missed out on more than my share of cards that were once way more affordable. And they're gonna remain out of my collection.

I can buy a whole lotta really cool stuff with a 4 or 5K budget.

But if someone can or wants to afford it? I can only congratulate! image

$4k on a PSA 9 is pretty lofty. Especially one with a noticeable defect (the yellow PD). As others have said, there is an abundant supply of PSA 9's be patient and wait for one that meets your standard for eye appeal. I would be surprised if you couldn't snag one for less that $3,000. They seem to be in a pretty tight range lately between $2400-$2900. Good luck!
