PSA Poppage Question

I'm interested in hearing from the board members here. Regarding overall wait time on psa orders, do you feel that submitting cards of similiar years, rather than a scattered order featuring various modern and vintage cards/years lessens the amount of overall wait time? Or am I mistaken and it's all completely random? Let's hear your experiences.

I've been waiting almost two months for a six card sub - all cards from same set. So I got that going for me.
  • I don't think it really matters. If there is a pattern to a quicker popping sub I certainly have not been able to figure it out. I think I could send two duplicate subs in at the same time and they might be finished months apart.

I used to think it mattered - that maybe if a lot of the cards were from the same set it went faster, or if most were all modern or the same sport it would go faster. However, my last few subs have been scattered in terms of different sports and I have gotten all of them back with 2-3 weeks after login.

I've found that obscure cards and cards that are often forged or "high risk" take the longest. PSA has a research department in charge of handling these orders. I can't imagine an order made up of 50 1988 Topps cards stops here.

From PSA's hiring practices, the research department is the bottleneck.
