why is this jordan rookie so expensive?

    Card looks trimmed on the top, mostly noticeable on the back scan. If I was going to drop that kind of coin, that would worry me. PSA might not even grade that. Yikes.

    Oh, and because it's graded Pristine, which for all intents and purposes, is the highest grade a card can get (four 10 subgrades being the ultimate grade, theoretically). They generally outsell PSA 10's by 2 to 5 times because they are considered higher than GEM MINT, which is PSA's max grade.

    I'm thinking it is just cheap advertising for Memory Lane's next auction just like the 51 Mantle that was discussed a few days ago.

  • POP report for this card is less than 10 I believe, last I remember it was at 5. Probably still is. One of these did supposedly sell for 100k in 2011. I might do some searching since I dont remember if it was on ebay or an auction house. Another one popped up a year or two ago and was priced at 88k but I do not know if it sold on ebay or if a deal was struck offsite.
