Both of those are very sharp. Nice find. The Yzerman could be a 9. Tough to find with centering like that as long as there aren't imperfections not clear in the photo. Corners are hard to tell if they are sharp. Shanahan appears to have an issue with curling on one boarder so that could cause it to be mid grade. Let us know how they grade! Good luck!

Those 84-85's are a bear to find centered. The Yzerman looks real good for the issue.
I have a complete raw set of Topps and centering is so bad on several star cards that I wouldn't consider grading.

thanks ... question what about the small cutout on the right at the bottom of the Yzerman, see how the edge shows the normal OPC cut then it stops then picks back up .... or am I being to picky

Unless something is hidden in the scan the Yzerman's a 9.

I think you're ok. If it's part of the normal OPC rough cut PSA normally doesn't penalize. Here's a pic of my yzerman 9. I think yours presents nicer than mine. image

    8 - 8.5 on Yzerman. 7.5 or 8 on Shanny.
"My father would womanize, he would drink. He would make outrageous claims like he invented the question mark. Sometimes he would accuse chestnuts of being lazy. The sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament. Our childhood was typical. Summers in Rangoon, luge lessons. In the spring we'd make meat helmets. When we were insolent we were placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds - pretty standard really."

...and since we're talking about Yzerman....I've been looking for this specific card for a few years now.

    PSA 9 MINT STEVE YZERMAN 1984 OPC CERT# 30939111

If you have it or find it, please let me know.
  • 6.5 on the Shanahan - Great card but I see 3 corners with the slightest touch.
7.5 on Yzerman - again, great card - top two corners look to have a hint of wear.

Both those cards will be strictly graded but may bump up due to eye appeal.

At a 7 or 7.5, the card is probably worth more raw. But I disagree. I think it's a 9. Sub that Yzerman. If it's your only card awaiting submission, reach out to charrigan. Hes working on a big group sub. He's on MI I think...quick shipping. But he might have closed it...
