my gawd.. I'm just amazed.. when your 2 best players (Pierce & Walker) shoot a combined 14 for 52 -> 27%!! and you still win the game.. you gotta play against a real bad team.. so anyone who states that the East will win 1 game against the West team that advances is nuts!

There's 2 sides to the game (offense and defense). Offense was bad, defense was good. You notice low scoring on East, but high scoring on West. West Conference is better on offense. Eastern Conference is better on defense.
Dude Boston had good interior Defense last night and that's it. If New Jersey was hitting it's shots there would be no talk of Boston's defense. Boston wasn't hitting shots either. Missed open looks have nothing to do with Good Defense. In fact I'd almost say the Defense played last night was lousy because of all the open shots missed by both teams, more noticibly with the Nets.
Check this link. Sums up everything about the so called Eastern Confernce Defensive play.
Kittles, Nets miss opportunity in Game 2
Like I said missed open shots don't have a lick to do with good defense.

And you notice which conference dominate the "Defensive Player of the Year" award. The East is dominate on defense and the West dominate on offense. Another reason the West is liked more. People rather see scoring (dunking and 3-pointers) than steals, block shots, and rebounds.
Auto said: And you notice which conference dominate the "Defensive Player of the Year" award.
One defense player does not represent the whole confernece by any means imaginable.

Explain the lower scoring games.

<< <i>auto? xcuse me? have you noticed the defence of the Lakers? ok, so the Kings' and the Mavs' defence sucks, but good golly miss molly Shaq, Horry, Fisher, Kobe and Fox are top notch defenders, waaaaaaay better than the Celtics all together, who only get some defence from Battie >>
Compare the 100 point games in the Western Conference verses the Eastern Conference. Lakers is 1 team. I'm referring to the entire conference.

Guys....the lakers might have the most talent in the league and should win.......but don't count out the underdog.....way to many times teams get so over confident they forget to come and play.
HENCE THE PATRIOTS BEATING THE RAMS THIS YEAR !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ALL YOU RAMS FANS REMEMBER THAT RIGHT????
Oh by the way...Celtics 2 - Lakers - 0 this year.......................hhhhmmm interesting!!!!
the Spurs were better during the season than the Lakers, they almost got swepped by them.. Kings were better during the season, heck, they had the best home-record during the season, they're 4-3 during the play-offs.. Lakers have experience, they have defense, they have offense, they have it all! and what does boston have? a power forward who can't seem to shoot over 40% for his 2's and 32% for his 3's (and takes about 10 threes a game) and a small forward who shot 3 for 20 last night.. o yea.. new champions comin' through LOL

Good posts Undertaker.
I totally agree. The East is far inferior to the West. The East is not properly labeled as a defensive conference. As most of us know it should be labeled as less skilled. Bad field goal percentage typically (not always) comes from bad shots or bad execution. Not from good defense. We know the NBA. Every team gets it's open looks all games long. A team not hitting open shots has nothing to do with Good Defense.
why thank you
not too bad for a European guy who has only seen 10 games on tape in his entire life
*sigh* they should REALLY broadcast some games over here
