Pre 1998 Autograph card question

I have read on the PSA website that they won't grade pre 1997 autograph cards in the regular flip. I was browsing Probstein's auctions, and I see he is selling some 1997 BAP autographs graded in the regular flip. How is this possible? I have a card from 1997 Bowman CHL that I would like graded in the regular flip.

Pre-1997 the graphs must be authenticated in addition to grading. They offer a authentication process that goes in the red flip. It is the $25 program you see in their regular price list.
