Though not with this offer, my last several eBay Buck deals have advertised them as being for "VIPs". I don't know what that category is, whether there is actually such a thing as a non-VIP eBay buyer, what you do to get in, etc. This is what they looked like in my email:

You have to opt in to receiving general email promotions. MyEbay - Communication Preferences
Click on "show" under the bottom one called Promotions and Surveys.
Check the box next to General Email Promotions and Save.
You won't be eligible for the current Ebay bucks special but you should get the invitations in the future.

I am by no means a big spender on ebay or a big time seller but I get these offers rather frequently. I took advantage of the current offer and picked up a 1948 Bowman Musial RC that I have had my eye on for some time. I have been wanting this card for a long time so I am pretty pumped!

Lots of these cards are listed by well known professional sellers that can be easily contacted off-line. Contacting them off-line to purchase a card privately can turn your 2x-5x ebay bucks into an easy 10% off or more and there won't be a cap of $100 off like Ebay bucks has for over $1000 purchases.

eBay asked me for feedback on my recent customer service interaction. I didn't hold anything back. I doubt they'll care though. They still do nothing about the pack resealers that I pointed out to them and that was months ago.

I usually contact the seller with auction with buy it now. Seller usually willing to change auction price into buy it now if the offer price is good.

They seem to just play around with the conditions of the 10%, end of quarter I would expect 10% with no minimum per item. Other months vary with the 2x-5x at various per item levels or 10% at a single threshold.

the promo was scheduled to commence at 8am PST, as they usually do.

however, the notification about the promo did not hit my emai box until 10:30am PST

I used to receive all of the ebay bucks offers, but was never able to use them. Finally, right before Christmas I used 2 different ones to get bucks. I haven't gotten an offer since.

I got the email today but it didn't get sent to my eBay mail account. When I opened the email the sign in screen was different, so I was not sure if it was actually from eBay. Anyone else notice the new sign in screen?

Here is a way to fix that. Close your browser. Open it again. Sign into ebay. Open Email and click your link. If it shows a sign in screen you know it is spoofed.
