1857 Flying Cent (has it been cleaned?)

Here's a 1857 cent ive considered anything think its been cleaned. im curious why its not slabbed

Are you sure it's not a counterfeit? I see little pimples on the reverse. One near the left side
of the N in ONE. Dentils are not complete and normal looking on the obverse (5-9).

From those pictures, your 1857 cent looks cleaned, and then some.

Looks like the pics are a little bright, possibly hiding something. I also see some verdigris. Don't know about counterfeit.

The seller's photos are just small enough to keep you from seeing much detail, and don't have the zoom feature either. This always makes me think "bear trap!" Color on obv looks a bit too bright for me. If looking for a high Au or MS example I would stick to properly slabbed. Can't tell from photos if this one is fake or not; there are some good copies out there and you should be wary.

Yes I merely sent a question to him asking if it had been cleaned dipped whizzed or altered in any way. waiting to here what he said. the photos and the fact he didn't slab it if in such nice condition left me with a big ???

A bit hard to tell from the images as to cleaning but as others have said some issues: the wear is not consistent (see eagles foot and reverse), rim ding at 1:00, color is off (could be photo), Rims don't look right ( could be off center, wires), Reverse color is funny at bottom and showing green at 9:00. Now saying all of this other coins they have posted are very questionable take a look at this one: Link

Not to my knowledge. All of the coins I have for sale, or have already sold come from an old family collection of mine. They have been locked away since the 1950's when the family member who collected them died.
