    Because of the fleurs designs France comes to mind. But if it is a coin or a medal or what not--haven't a clue. I am sure someone on these boards will know what it is.

    Perhaps a jeton/token; appears to copy the design of a French gold Franc à pied of Charles V (or thereabouts). I'm not very familiar with these, but here's what appears to be a genuine piece being offered on the world's biggest thief's market:

    I've seen these listed as early 1300's jetons or counters. Flanders? I do recall seeing one listing as Charles IV or Phillipe? I'll have to look it up again.

    However, I've seen several of these and never one with such detail as yours. I'd be wary of counterfeits or restrikes, although I don't know of any counterfeits in this area.
