Collecting Milestone PSA Set Completed - 1995 Finest Refractors Baseball

I've been working on 90's baseball Finest refractors since I got back into the hobby around 2006. Started with 1993 and recently finished the first complete refractor set on the PSA registry outside of 1993, with the completion of the 1995 set. 330 cards and at least 4/5 of those were self submitted. Great looking set which features first refractors for Jeter and Chipper Jones as well as a true RC for Hideo Nomo. Link to set with pictures below. (last card to finish up was Andres Galarraga)

Congratulations. It's always fulfilling to complete a set after working on it for several years. Do you have another project lined up after this one?

Getting real close on the 1994 Finest Refractor set as well, have more than 410 of the 440.

Very nice job saucywombat. How many refractors do you think Topps made of each player? Do you think it is greater or less than the 1993 Finest refractor set? I remember chasing these cards back a long time ago and ran out of patience as I did not have the luxury of an Ebay.
    Great job.

I think common knowledge would say that there are a ton more 1994 refractors than 1993. And that is true BUT it is because there are 440 cards in the 1994 set vs. 199 in the 1993 set. What is interesting is that statistics would seem to indicate that any individual card in 1994 actually has FEWER examples than the well established 241 per card standard from 1993.

    See below:

based on the best info available (Standard Catalog states a production run of 4000 cases). And assuming equal distribution of cards...

(There is some question as to whether these were distributed in 6 or 8 box cases)

    At 6 boxes per case:

    24,000 Boxes
    576,000 Packs
    4,032,000 cards
~9163 examples of any given card

~110 examples of any given refractor

    At 8 boxes per case:

    32,000 Boxes
    768,000 Packs
    5,376,000 cards
~12,218 examples of any given card

~145 examples of any given refractor

If refractor insertion rate is approx. 1 per 10 packs, though I think most would agree that 2 per box was standard. Assuming 1 per 10 distribution:

w/ 6 box case = ~131 examples of any given refractor
w/ 8 box case = ~175 examples of any given refractor
