Should I reholder this variation to get the right flip?

I got this Van Buren Buren prior to the Blue Sock variation was found. There are only six graded in the blue sock. Should I reholder? Would it increase the asking price/value. Lastly, I think this card could bump. Only thing holding it back is the bottom right corner and the junk on the card by the football. Is the "junk" the issue with it not being a 3-ish type card or is it the corner? image

Never a bad idea to get a card holdered correctly, especially on variations. I see there are 5 different variations with some of the others being scarce as well, so you might not increase the value, but the right collector who wants all the variations of this HOF rookie card would certainly want it in the correct holder.

Don't know if the card is worthy of a bump, when the corner wear creeps onto the surface, it seems to really downgrade the card. Another grader might grade it higher. You just never know.

Go for it! Card has good eye appeal.

    Good luck!

Just sub it with the rest of your mech errors. It is free (w/ voucher as reimbursement for your shipping charges to get it to them) so I don't see any reason why you would not want to get it into a holder that has a correct label.
