Good evening everyone,
I've decided to start up this fairly small set for two reasons:
1. I was a history major and history teacher (so it's right up my alley).
2. It is a relatively inexpensive set.
Here is my first pick up:
If you collect this set, feel free to add your cards to the thread.

Currently collecting 1934 Butterfinger, 1969 Nabisco, 1991 Topps Desert Shield (in PSA 9 or 10), and 1990 Donruss Learning Series (in PSA 10).
I'd like to complete this set in PSA 7 and above…we will see. I don't see the big ones (Washington, Lincoln) coming up very often.

Anyway, great set and keep us posted on your progress.
<< <i>pdub- I'm at 100% on this set. Ironically, I collected the 1972 version of this set. I didn't even know the 56 set existed. When I decided to build the set and discovered the 56 set, I went with that instead.
Anyway, great set and keep us posted on your progress. >>
I debated starting the 1932 U.S. Caramel, but that set is priced a little out of my league. I like the '56, I just hope more cards come up for auction.

I collected the 72 set as a kid. When I went to start the set, I discovered the 56 set and went with that. I feel the 56 set is the most popular.

Again just outstanding artwork, nice job with the progress
Hi, nice work. I, too, am building a PSA Registry Set for this set. So far, I have all PSA 8's and need about 4 cards to complete. But, they are difficult to find and pricey in PSA 8, so I may have to drop down to PSA 7 for the remaining cards I need.
Here are my two most recent...I think I've missed a few that I've picked up along the way, so I'll post them sometime in the future.

This is the first time I have seen these. I think my wife would love them. She's really into the presidents. Let me rephrase that. She's really into the past presidents.

Really love the look of these cards. Have a complete set of the 72's but would love to do the 56's. The artwork is just amazing. I'm not into the non-sports stuff much but I also had a raw set of 62 Topps Civil War News that I sent in for grading and singled out. The color and artistry on those is amazing as well. Really wish Topps could do something along the lines of these sets again.
Confirmed. This is what it takes to get my wife on the registry.

Beautiful set - how far along are you now?
I remember this set from my childhood in the 50s. It looks great in high grade.

I'm a little over 60% complete. Trying to get everything in a PSA 7 or above. Takes a while to find one at auction and not at some super high BIN.

Nice collection! I am currently doing the 1952 Set. I like the artistry as well as the summary on the backs of these cards. I wish they would create another set as well.
