That car chase is happening in Palmdale. Do you know how far Palmdale is from PCGS? Palmdale is about 110 miles from PCGS. At this time of evening on a Monday you can fly from LAX to Chicago faster than you could drive from Palmdale to PCGS.

But I know the geography of Maryland quite well. I know what happens in Anne Arundel County probably won't affect life in Towson and what happens in Cumberland probably won't matter to those in Ocean City.

Unlike Maryland, California is a large state. You can't drive clear across one end of the state to the other in 2 1/2 hours like you can in Maryland. You sound just like my relatives in Asia: when they hear about some disaster that happened in the U.S. they send a fax or email asking if everybody is okay. Often they're kindly reminded what they saw on the news is as far away from us as they are from Singapore.

Car chases happen all the time especially in the L.A. and Orange County area. Unless the chase is happening within a half mile of you, life goes on uninterrupted for almost everybody.

Oh yeah, one more thing...with a few exceptions PCGS does not accept walk-in visitors or in person submissions at their very anonymous and well secured office. In fact their building is secure to the point that even if I give you their street address most map services would give you a wrong location or incorrect directions. No kidding.

I call it being intrusive and nosy.

Growing up in the environment I did I learned one very useful habit when family members and other people with similar backgrounds ask you about your life, business, education history, how much money you make etc. Because nothing positive will ever happen if you answer truthfully, either refuse to answer or make up an answer that is so outrageous it makes heads explode. My mother absolutely hates it when I do that but to me the reactions I get are beyond hilarious.

It's actually not due to the work of PCGS but because of peculiarities with city boundaries, street names and direction designations in the immediate area of their building. I just punched in their address on Google Maps and it gives the correct location. On navigational tools like Garmin and other car based navigation systems the incorrect information is often shown.

I've been thinking of following you on Twitter WTCG, but after this thread, I'll pass.

    Twitter is out.
