Thick PCGS Slab?

I just purchased a 2009 UHR in a PCGS slab and the slab is way thicker than any other PCGS slab that I have ever seen. So thick in fact that it won't fit into a PCGS blue box. Is this a bogus slab or has PCGS started using a super thick slab at some time in the near past???

The coin is thick, therefore they had to make a thick slab

OK, but the 2009 UHR that I purchased three weeks ago came in the standard thickness... Both of these are 'side view' slabs, just one is way thicker. I hadn't seen any like that before so I was wondering...

From your description it would seem that you have a coin in a BaseBall Hall of Fame Slab.

Il bet that's exactly what it is a slab intended for the baseball commem. The last one I saw 2009 UHR was about 5 months ago, that was in a thick holder.

Thanks guys. I found a 'HOF box' message string that includes side view photos and my 'thick' slab looks like the HOF ones so it appears the mystery is solved.

Mine's in a normal slab, although it was graded before the baseball coins came out.
