They are known for grading sheet cut cards, which those most likely were.

I have zero luck crossing over, some luck cracking out but generally grade .5 or more less

Could also be PSA flipping a middle finger up at BGS. It's been said on these boards that you have a very slim chance to see things cross in-holder.

You can't get evidence of trimming in the holder.

Yea, I thought that was kind of odd.

I am just guessing from experience but I think it was probably sheet cut and yes you can get evidence of trimming on a crossover. I once had a BVG 9.5 card that I sent in for a crossover and it came back evidence of trimming.

All 3 of these cards were in the beckett holders so im guessing sheet cut was the answer.

Is this some new service? Every in holder cross over I have tried or read about on this board either says the grade you wanted or Min Grade.

    What were the three cards?

Actually, you can. It is actually pretty easy to identify sheet cut versus standard cut cards if you know the cutting characteristics and patterns that exists within specific issues. Granted, you must be able to have a clear view of at least some of the edges of each of the four sides, but that is possible with all three of the major TPG's.

I have had a card graded "Trimmed" but it did have the borders cut off on all sides, so an obvious trim job.

This. Complete waste of time and money sending in any graded card to another. Its easy money though for the company.

IT CAN'T BE A TRUE PLAYOFF UNLESS THE BIG TEN CHAMPIONS ARE INCLUDED

  • For about the hundredth time, these cards are more than likely trimmed. Some of them are sheet cut, but the majority of them are actually trimmed. All card companies grade them. It isn't a secret.
  • I sent in a 1996 Topps Chrome Kobe Bryant rookie graded BGS 9.5 to cross over and it came back "Evidence of trimming".

The card was not trimmed and a 4 sub grades were GEM. In my opinion chance of getting a BGS 9.5 to cross over to a PSA 10 is slim. Free money.

At this point I don't buy BGS graded cards anymore. I'm trying to sell the ones I have.
