Non Responding Ebay Seller - HELP

Hey guys,

I could use some suggestions here. I was watching an item on Ebay and it ended without meeting its reserve. I was the high bidder, but obviously I didn't win. I contacted the seller, who had zero feedback, and asked if we could make a deal outside of Ebay. He agreed and we came up with a price. Since Ebay doesn't allow emails to be sent through Ebay Messaging I didn't know how to contact him outside of Ebay. I decided to have him relist the item on Ebay with a BIN price so I could buy it (this was I'm protected by Ebay). I bought it, sent payment via Paypal (protected again) and haven't heard from him since. Funny thing is we were communicating back and forth on Monday a few times and on Tuesday so its not as if he doesn't communicate. I sent payment, sent him a note saying I purchased the item and sent payment and then even emailed him to his AOL account (which was listed on my Paypal payment). I haven't heard back from him. The funny thing is my Paypal payment shows that it hasn't been accepted by the seller yet.

What do you guys make of it? Should I cancel the payment? Wait it out? Obviously I'm going to try to contact him some more, but what if he doesn't respond?

Chris

I know it hasn't been a long time, but the way the seller was emailing me back and forth it seemed as if he was anxious to get the deal done.

I'll wait it out and see what happens.

  • He has not been properly verified with PayPal (yet); that's why your payment hasn't been claimed or accepted yet. I wouldn't sweat it at all. If he doesn't contact PP and get his info verified, you can just cancel your payment. Give it a couple days. I've ran into this situation many times with 0 feedback sellers. They're new to the game.

+1, I think you need to give the situation a bit more time.

I had similar issues 2 x recently and the seller was thinking I wasn't paying.. let him know he needs to contact Paypal to verify his account.
