    Wow, way too young.

My 99 year old aunt died today too--now I don't feel so bad considering she was almost double Kersey's age.

    That's too bad.

A few Years ago I worked at a gym and mr. Kersey would sometimes come in to work out with some of his family. I couldn't help but get just a little bit star struck when I'd see him come in, not to the point of bothering him or asking for autographs or anything.

He had some nice years in Portland. Too bad.

David, sorry to hear about your loss. Best wishes to you and your family.

To the topic thread. RIP to Jerome Kersey. His 1988 Fleer card was one of the first basketball cards I ever owned. I traded a 1988 Topps McGwire RC in 1989 for a lot of about 50 1988 Fleer cards, including Kersey, Michael Jordan, Karl Malone, Reggie Miller, Stockton AS and other stars and commons. I still have some of those cards! Traded the Jordan at some point for something (I don't remember what now).

    oh, crap.

Kersey and Terry Porter are two of my favorite Blazers of all time. That was a fun team to watch. I didn't mind losing to the Bulls so much, but it really bothered me when they lost to Detroit.

David, I am sure Eric doesn't mind sharing his thread. Sounds like she lived a full life. Man to be that close to 100, that is something.

Kersey was part of some great Blazers team. They are overlooked now in history. But, if not for that guy Jordan, Kersey, Drexler, Porter and the bunch would likely have won a ring. Rip city!
