Question for the Thomas NNOF experts

Most examples I see online have part of the name present (a dot actually) and few don't have it (or it's very light). I prefer the latter, though I'll admit it's not a HUGE deal. What are your feelings about it (if any)? I'm thinking about using part of my tax return to pick one up this year. Since I was a kid I always wanted one and think it's a good time to buy for my personal collection and perhaps pass on to my son someday.

Thanks in advance!

Examples:

With dot

Almost indistinguishable dot.

The dot wouldn't sway me either way, and best of luck in finding one that satisfies you.
  • I think they can be certified either way, I mean PSA doesn't distinguish between a dot and no dot. That being said, for me personally, I'm always thinking about reselling down the line someday and I don't want to give anyone a reason to lowball me so I would try to find one with no dot but thats just me, I'm a little anal about things like that.

I'd say its likely due to the quality of the scan rather than any actual variation in the card. All will have the faintest hint of the start of his name, as (for the uninitiated) this is not truly a name left off error but rather the absence of black ink over a swath off the card which happened to include 99.5% of his blank ink printed name.
Always looking for 1993-1999 Baseball Finest Refractors and1994 Football Finest Refractors.

If my memory serves, there are some varying degrees of black ink loss. I also some cards were discovered that had some black ink loss but not completely. Considering how the defect occurred, it makes sense that they're not all going to be exactly like each other. As long as it's slabbed by PSA I wouldn't worry about it.
