Roman Follis Coin Inserts

OK, laugh all you want, but one of the more obscure websites I like to look at coins is Goodwill's site:

I have zero interest in it, and truthfully, it's hard to follow with each individual Goodwill store having different shipping, buyers fee, etc - in many years of watching, I see intersting things, and have put in bids, but things there typically go for WAY, WAY more $ than things should, but enough about the site, it's fun to watch I think is my obsession with it.

But... this item I think is pretty cool/different - I just know nothing about it, and the high price it is currently at made me want to ask what exactly it is, so... what can anyone tell me about this item? Is the value on the silver/gold in the box, or is there some valuation in the coin related part?

Looks like a home made humidor, which was never used (because it wouldn't have functioned well).

Just eyeballing it, I'd guess the sum value of the parts is between $500.00 and $600.00. How much anyone wants to pay beyond that for the craftsmanship and curiosity, I can't guess. Apparently at least another five hundred bucks if the auction is any indication.
