Future of Rose Rookie Cards

Pete Rose was my favorite player and I once had a PSA 8.5 that I had to sell because of family emergency. I just purchased a PSA 6 of Pete's rookie card so I had one. Any thoughts of what will happen with its value? If he should get on Hall ballot? Thanks.

If I had to bet on it I would wager they go up.

The HOF will have no effect on value. The damage has already been done!

I think his rookie card will always retain value, despite in part for the wrong reason-gambling. But sometimes negative notoriety often results in interest which translates to collector interest, card/memorabilia buying. Look at collector/general public interest in OJ cards/memorabilia after his dilema. Possibly, his autos. may not rise in value as he has signed a ton of material. Unless it was some unique item related to a special achievement. As it's said in the entertainment world/business any press is good press.

if you were ranking collectibility/value from the time of his rookie card 1963, outside of big time rookie cards, only nolan ryan gets more attention. not even aaron, clemente, or mays rank higher. in our, the collectors world, pete is already enshrined.

I wouldn't mind seeing him get reinstated. I also picked up a nice 6 this past week!

I think Rose's potential road to the HOF is still a long one. Even if he gets reinstated by the new commissioner, I'm not sure the voters would vote him in immediately. And I'm sure there are some who would never vote for him. All of this aside, Rose rookie cards have seen a steady climb in value over the years, which I would expect to continue.

The sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament. Our childhood was typical. Summers in Rangoon, luge lessons. In the spring we'd make meat helmets. When we were insolent we were placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds - pretty standard really."

Extremely happy home Matt, now to pry a few of those other doubles you have to join Petey!

That is a great looking 6. I'm hoping he eventually gets in.

That is a sweet looking PSA 6 rookie. I certainly believe that the centered examples will only go up in price. I for one am always willing to pay extra for the centering. Centered examples like that PSA 6 will sell for more than VCP avg. with the price being well above the avg. PSA 6 but less than a PSA 7.

Recently hunted down my old Rose RC, which I loved so much but had to sell a long ways back to get a more expensive, much rarer card. Now it's back home.

I feel his "hall of fame" premium is already built into the price. If and when he gets collected maybe there's a short term bump in price. But most long term collectors already know how they feel and have purchased accordingly.
Interested in higher grade vintage cards. Aren't we all. image

A 6 will probably hold it's value. HOF means little or nothing in Pete's case in my opinion. Collectors who like Pete don't care, his cards are in demand.

Centering is the biggest issue I would say. The 6 pictured is a beauty!!!!!

His card always sell for a decent price even in lower grade. I think you may see another bump in the next year on high grade examples

I think Shoeless Joe Jackson fans were hoping for this as well.
