I for one would also encourage you to press on for a few more, and even cherry-pick, as you probably do all your Micks, a couple of the gorgeous General Foods' issues. Also, the 1969 Topps Super baseball and a 1962 Salada Tea Coin. My, here I am trying to run your life---sorry. By all means, you've got a passel of nice Mickey Mantle cards. Congrats all the way, bro! --Indiana Jones (Brian Powell)
<< <i>Nice Mantle collection. Do you have any plans to add any regular issues from the 50s? >>
In time yes, but it's a slow process due to other financial obligations. I'm sure many can relate
<< <i>Thanks, pal, for sharing. The centering on your 1969 Topps really impressed me. In 1969, when I was 15, I pulled two Mickeys from wax packs of that series. Both were so off-centered to one side it was pitiful. I was quite irritated about that. Glad at least you got a honey. Thanks again. I also love both your 1960 gems, as well as the gorgeous 1961 "MANTLE BLASTS 565 FT. HOME RUN".

Thanks! As far as issues, I'd ideally like to add a few more Topps & Bowman before I branch out but hey, ya never know. I REALLY like the look of the '54 Red Heart but that's well out of my price range.
I love the centering on my '69. As you can see it was graded before they went to the half point scale so I've often wondered if it could make a 6.5, or who knows many even a 7?
You've got good taste; the Red Heart has such a gorgeous picture of Mickey. The value is there if you're willing to "settle" for a crisp picture registry and nicely-centered PSA 6-7. I know I would; that's a great Mantle. I don't care if it's relatively plentiful; it's flat out beautiful. with a very interesting background story to boot, and howl about! However, I also know that's still somewhat pricey and is too much for me, too. Sad. But hey, these are Mickey Mantle cards, not those of Frankie Baumholtz. No disrespect to Mr. Baumholtz.
Always, if I may say so, be thankful for the good things that you've got. For the good things that you've got are for many just a dream. That's a line from a good song I heard thirty-some years ago, and never heard again, but never forgot its true message. I wanted to express that to you because when we talk about other Manltes we don't have, and may never ever have, we can easily get discouraged or think our own collections are sub-par when that's not at all true. Maybe that wasn't going through your heart, but just in case....
Twenty-five years ago, I settled for the reprints of the very very rare 1960 Home Run Derby card set. I love them, with their innocuous proof they are indeed reprints, 'cause I had a good look at a complete set of originals, and I'm telling you the reprints perfectly replicate the real deal. Sure, I'd rather have the genuine article, but sometimes a reprint will give you most of the eye candy, and none of the anguish over how much you had to spend for an original. ---Indiana Jones (Brian Powell)

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.
Always looking for Mantle cards such as Stahl Meyer, 1954 Dan Dee, 1959 Bazooka, 1960 Post, 1952 Star Cal Decal, 1952 Tip Top Bread Labels, 1953-54 Briggs Meat, and other Topps, Bowman, and oddball Mantles.
