Here's one I just got in my hot little hand. 1925 is a tougher Buff to acquire fully struck. They minted quite a few of em like to the tune of 35,565,100. The 25 is common in all grades short of gem And as David W. Lange says "These too are available but do not possess a fully stuck date" I like the "Fully Struck Date" on this one. let me tell ya about this one. It's super frosty especially on the reverse around the Buffalo's head and the luster is really big.
Sooooo, what do ya think it graded? It's housed in a pcgs holder as you can probably guess. Thanks for looking and please, give it your best shot. Joe
Well, it's a 66+ and it's CAC'ed. With a population of 17 pieces graded @ 66+ and only 12 graded higher @ 67 by pcgs I feel it's a great Buff to own. The strike and the details this Buff displays is really something to behold, I couldn't pass. Thanks to all for your time and opinions on this beauty, much appreciated. Happy hunting, Joe

The bitterness of "Poor Quality" is remembered long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten.

<< <i>I'll go with a 65 on the 1925. Absolutely love the color on the '30-S. >>
Thanks, Ron
I absolute love that one too. I won it in a auction a while back and trust me when I say the images in way way do this Buff justice. The underlying luster really sets the color off.
<< <i>The color on that 1930-S is amazing. I would love to see that coin in hand. As for the 1925, I love the strike on the reverse. The obverse is very good for the date but still a bit soft so I say 66+. >>
Hi Dave and thank you for the complement on the 30-s.
should be found with a + on it's label too for eye appeal
one amazing buff there crazy
it has one of those what i call..."molten patina's"...an unbroken one which is a rare sight
it's like it's covered in a glaze that melted on instead of luster & frost
most of the times there will be breaks in that and flow lines appear...NOT ON THIS EXAMPLE
this is where "proof like" can easily be agreed upon and
if it was a 1927....this would have to be studied real close
simply amazing 1925 there

No sir, I cannot. But I'll guess MS67
I like LVTeddy's description of molten patina for the surfaces. Just a spectacular coin.
Luster is booming!
I'm in the 66 or better crowd.
Those other Buffs are NUTS too!

MS66.....only because I think PCGS would want a close to fully struck/almost mark free coin to grade it 67. Only 1-1/2% of all the MS65-67 1925 Buffs are graded MS67....very tough.

I guessed right so that means I win the coin, right?
What's the grade of the 1930-S? I'll take that one if you prefer.

If I'm reading this right your guess was, quote "The obverse is very good for the date but still a bit soft so I say 66+. >>
"
The grade on the 30-S is a beautiful 65 by pcgs. But, I didn't purchase the coin for the grade in this particular case.
Thanks again.

<< <i>Killer coin! I want your 21 ...... >>
This one? Thanks but not for sale....
<< <i>That 21 is unreal! I like your taste in toned buffaloes, my friend! >>
Thank you. This 21 is by far my favorite one out of my collection.
Thanks again.
<< <i>That 1921 is pictured on a color plate in my abraded die book along with some other knockout color Buff examples. Thanks, Joe! >>
Thank you, Ron. It's an honor. I haven't seen a prettier one than this 21 . It's not the highest graded 21, just the prettiest. Of course this is my opinion.

Well, I'd generally have 'em pretty than real high grade.
