1970 Topps Rookies Bump or already bumped?

I picked these two cards up last Saturday and couldn't more surprised on how good they look in hand. I was wondering if I should send these two in for a review? What do the expert eyes of the board think? Thanks!

Those look good. I think it's safe to say they're not over graded. It might be worth a shot.

    Good luck.

  • Not to derail, but what brand and model scanner do you use? Looks solid.
  • After looking at a Evens rookie in PSA 9 on eBay the card looks way sharper than mine so maybe a half point bump wouldn't be worth sending in.

Its a cannon MP990 all in one printer. I does great scans the only downside it washes out blacks a little.

I'd say the psychology of asking a grader to bump a 7.5 is challenging. Depending on what you paid relative to a 7, I'd probably crack it if that top left looks 8-ish to you.

I was wondering about that with the half point already. And if I try to crack it out ill trash the darn thing.

Are those the new holders? Definitely more challenging than the old for crackouts.

That Munson definitely looks like a bump candidate to me. I agree that it would be best to crack and submit.
"My father would womanize, he would drink. He would make outrageous claims like he invented the question mark. Sometimes he would accuse chestnuts of being lazy. The sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament. Our childhood was typical. Summers in Rangoon, luge lessons. In the spring we'd make meat helmets. When we were insolent we were placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds - pretty standard really."
  • Crack that Munson, the grade don't fit, the centering on the reverse is pretty good. Usually poorly centered on the back. Don't bother with the Evans. They can be had in 9.

The new holders all seem to start the bar code number with '23.........'

On the Munson examine the top left corner good with a loupe. If there is nothing going on there the card has a good shot at an 8 if cracked out.
If there is a small crease in the upper left corner you'd be disappointed with the grade if you cracked out and resubmitted.
The Evans card is a good 8 could've been 8.5 on a good day IMO.
