If I were running SB

AFTER I fixed all the bugs in the system I would run an auction at 10% buyers premium as a goodwill gesture somewhere along the line. Consigners should benefit as well. Their faith must be shaken. Personally, I wouldn't run another auction period until the problems were fixed.
A l lot of folks are skeptical about auctions to begin with. You have added fuel to their fire.
Can you imagine if this recent "settlement" mess happened during the Pogue Sale? Maybe Sotheby’s will be a positive influence. I wonder exactly what their role will be?
Carry on.

There's no way on this green Earth I'd be a consignor with them right now.
<< <i>It's my understanding Pogue can pull out after the first sale and go elsewhere if they aren't satisfied. I wouldn't be surprised if they exercised that option like the Teich Family did a few years ago.

I would be amazed (and disappointed) if they were running the Pogue sale as an internet only auction.
They can just say there was a late bid sheet if they are not happy with the results, so really no risk for the Pogue folks.
As I'm sure you could fix everything wrong at S/B for the last couple years well prior to the Pogue sale!

Some of my favorite people in the business have close relationships with the SB folks and speak very highly of them. It pains me to see all the turmoil. I believe they are good people.
However the following seems to be the case:
Either
1) they under estimate the problems or have their head in the sand
2) they think their brand can withstand the problems and this will all blow over
3) they don't know how to fix it or have their resources improperly aligned
4) somehow these issues haven't made it all the way up the food chain and aren't known to the upper management. I've seen this happen.
Maybe it's an unhealthy mix of all.
I do know the hobby needs a healthy SB to keep Heritage in check. Goldberg's and Ian are is in a different league and as much as I like the folks at Legend they are better equipped as a boutique operator.
I'm repeating myself but he power brokers at SB need to stop what they are doing to devote ALL of their combined talents and fix the problems or bring people in that can.

I still suspect S/B believes e-commerce is just a fad.

Personally, I'd be learning how to fix the coding, and doing it at home after hours. Seriously.

Hopefully the high dollar values limit the crush of incoming data traffic on their servers. Otherwise, I'd imagine that one would be unimpressed with the other.
I know people here know him, and it would be cool if someone extended him an invitation to come and give his side of things.
I doubt it would happen as it takes a REALLY thick skin to come on when you have problems that are getting attention and really screwing people around.
I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

BK is pretty high up. I'm ruling out 4.
I think after $2mil and a botched job, I'm on 3 - they don't know how and don't have the money.
I love Wicked. It's my second favorite. S-B is my second favorite major auction house, too, and they could be/should be better.

<< <i>What's your #1 Musical RYK (Phantom or Les Miserables)?
Wondercoin >>
Excellent guess(es).
It's Les Mis, ever since my daughter, Lilly, played alongside Hugh Panaro (the most prodigious and recognized "Phantom") in the 2013 MUNY Les Miserables production.
Edit: Hugh played Jean Valjean in the MUNY's Les Mis and was the original US Marius in 1988.
Brian is on here.
As one of the buyers who got the shaft, I am done kicking the dead horse. I wish them the best at fixing these issues.
Cheers!
If I am not mistaken, I think that cast also included Norm Lewis. I saw him in the London production and he was also incredible. I hear Norm is also now the Phantom on Broadway.
What an experience for your daughter to perform along side Hugh Panero (and possibly Norm Lewis)!

edited to add- That London cast also included Sierra Boggess. Now there is a female performer your daughter should try to perform along side !
<< <i>Les Mis was going to be my only guess, but I wanted to cover all the bases with adding in Phantom. Simply an amazing show. And, your daughter looks great as young Cosette!

Why, yes, she did play along side Norm Lewis, as well. I am not sure who enjoyed the week more, Lilly or her old man.
Edit: Just located photo with Hugh:
My son auditioned for the UCLA Theatre School (along with the roughly 2,000 others), but did not get picked for one of the few slots they award. He did win the Character Actor of the Year Award here in CA (MACYS) for his portrayal of the pompous British Director in 'Curtains". Best of luck to your daughter!!

That's quite impressive. Congrats to your daughter!
I thoroughly enjoyed both your kids when you visited last, but your daughter is a real ham!
Congrats!
That is really cool that your daughter was in that production!

As I wouldn't mind consigning some stuff since when all the gears are well lubricated they could do extremely well.
Still knowing how many of the unresolved ongoing problems that can occur as a tentative consignee I could never place all my eggs in just S/B's basket.
