Mystery Medal - Does anyone know what this is?

My grandmother gave me this Lion's International medal/award/token back in the 1970's. I have never been able to figure out what it is, what it is made of and what it is worth. Any help is appreciated. It is huge compared to the quarter I put next to it for reference.

I would say it is associated with the Lions club and looks like it could be zinc. They made quite a few medals and medallions.
