Tonight's lottery is over $480 million dollars. Boy oh boy - if I ever won, then I could do some heavy duty bidding at Pogue. I got my lottery tickets - you got yours? BTW - the immediate cash payout is $300 million or so. My fingers are crossed!

A mercury dime would probably pay off better in the long run but the hopes and dreams of hitting the big one for $2 is a cheap thrill.
I got my 10 this morning.
Too many positive BST transactions with too many members to list.
<< <i>I wouldn't have time to buy coins as I'd be busy baitin' hooks and catchin' dem fishies.

of course a shiney mercury dime and you wouldn't need to bait hooks anyways
i bet it'd make a great lure all by itself
here's a 3 and a 1/4 cent lure...probably works pretty darn good

Are your 5 white ball numbers all odd or all even?

What are these state and local taxes you speak of?

<< <i>If I win and collect $300 Million and pay $100 million in income taxes. I will still have $200 million left over to complete my draped and capped bust dimes and quarters. I should still have some money to enjoy life left over. Nice plan? >>
Very nice.

I'd rather spend the lottery money on traffic fines, because those will benefit local Government. Yeah, you betcha. Unless you're a penny pinching Scrooge, most of us have wasted many dollars on stuff more foolish than lottery tickets.

I've played the lottery many times myself, even though I was a child prodigy in math.
I posted the quote because I thought it was funny. In any case, yes, I would certainly
end up with a few favorites from the Pogue collection if I were fortunate enough to
win a lottery.

Some might post it as a way to state their disdain for those who play it.

I think I have a ticket or two. My book says if you never buy, you'll never win.. If I don't win, then my couple of dollars will make someone's dream come true.

Dream on my friends.......

That guy is just dumb. At my age, of course I'd take the lump sum. I likely don't have enough time to accept much less enjoy the last installment. The cash payout is simply how much the lottery has to invest to maintain the annual payouts. I'd druther have a da control a da money.
What's neglected in the quantitative analysis the the value of the fun of the fantasy for a few days, the talk of what you'd do with the winnings at work, etc. There is some entertainment value to playing when the jackpot is huge.
Pogue Collection.
Then I spread the joy by having a PCGS Chat boards giveaway like none other.
I told my wife Id spend about a 100 million on coins
Those were the numbers I would have played, but I didn't buy a ticket.
I got 5 numbers plus the Power Ball.
Unfortunately they weren't all on the same line.

spoilsport.
I'd rather not know until the next day.
<< <i>The gal at the 7-11 asked if I'd buy a $20 ticket since some guy didn't pay for it so it would come out of her pocket, so I did.
I got 5 numbers plus the Power Ball.
Unfortunately they weren't all on the same line.

That's one reason I hate easy picks; the machine picks too many combos that are too much alike.

On the other hand, you have different fingers.
If you live your life by statistics, chances are you will have a pretty boring and unfulfilling life.
