1919-S Standing Liberty on ebay - Cast counterfeit or just an added mintmark?

How many things are wrong with this coin?

At best, it's corroded and pitted with an added mintmark.

At worst, it's a cast counterfeit, which is really what I suspect. And an added mintmark.

For a seller that has this many coin auctions, they should know there's something wrong with this.

They also have a "1918 P"...but how can you tell with the date 100% gone ?

The mint mark isn't right. I am not sure this is a modern Chinese counterfeit. I know it is easy to point fingers to Chinese counterfeit but I did see similar counterfeits in early 90s in J. Cline's cases (of course, they were marked as counterfeits). I bought one for reference and I still have it

Now he has a 17D T2 up. Same shallow reverse, same granularity/pimpling-virtually identical except for the date (the font of which is off). He must have bought a few different dates on Alibaba or something.

Edit to add: his FB shows a positive for a "1921" he sold some unknowing schlub for $300. Same exact surfaces, hinky date and overall look. Sad

It looks like they used a slug of chalk to strike the coin. Somebody, somewhere is thinking they will buy that new Iphone with the gains after reselling the coin. Ouch.
