New price grading methods/standards...

Perhaps, a new model of for pricing on graded cards should be established or a least considered.
1) When grading 1992 and older cards, there should be a premium put on certain cards. And likewise a rebate on others.
I would guess that there have been very few reprints or fakes of a 1982 Topps Shooty Babbitt cards. But there probably have been reprints or fakes of 1981 topps Joe montana's, 1985 Mario Lemieux, etc. So why not price the cards accordingly. i would guess there would be little or no thought process of fake 1982 Babbitt cards and many other commons going back for decades. The cards would simply just be graded.
However, Gretzky rookies, mantle cards, etc. , jordan rookies, probably need further scrutinization(sp).
So does it make sense that we pay $7 per card for commons and $7 for mantles, not really. Why not always have available $4.50 specials, just for the commons, maybe you need to send in at 50 or 100, in order to get the special. Then maybe you pay $7 apiece for all other stars and rookies, except for the "heavily faked/reprint cards" established by PSA. and then you pay $10.
Any thoughts??

I agree with most of your comments except the last sentence, and I hope I'm not taking it out of context or something but if I'm paying money to have cards graded/authenticated/slabbed, I want them ALL to be graded/authenticated/slabbed equally. I'm talking about NOT cutting corners on a 1982 Topps Shooty Babbit simply because there's a very slim chance it could be counterfeit, reproduction etc...
basically on the commons, unless something really stands out, I wouldn't think they would spend much time investigating. maybe when you get back to the 50's they reprice those.
Without a different pricing structure for 1982 and up cards, who is really going to pay $7 for topps commons. Not many of us.
