GAI Graded?

Hey guys, I have only been back in the hobby a little over a month so pardon me if this is old knowledge. I have been pursuing Mantle in either PSA or SGC grades, but stumped up on this 55 Bowman GAI 8. Judging by the scans the card looks better than some of the same examples in a PSA 7. If I was to purchase the card, my immediate plans would be to have it crossed over to PSA with a 7 minimum. My concern is wether or not GAI is a trusted grading service, or has this card more than likely been trimmed/altered? 55B has been an extremely difficult Mantle to find centered, so that has been the only reason I have contemplated purchasing this one. Don't even bother. All that extra room in the black insert should tell you to stay away.
Ask yourself why is it in a GAI holder in the first place?
