    Yeah. He was terrible.
"My father would womanize, he would drink. He would make outrageous claims like he invented the question mark. Sometimes he would accuse chestnuts of being lazy. The sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament. Our childhood was typical. Summers in Rangoon, luge lessons. In the spring we'd make meat helmets. When we were insolent we were placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds - pretty standard really."
  • Actually he was a highly regarded prospect coming out of high school. He was a third round draft pick and made the Florida State League All-Star team. He had a few good seasons before a knee injury cut his career short. I don't see how you can call him terrible.

I bet there are more than a few owners that wish he had been banished to playing in Japan.

Decent batting average and strong OBP. I know he made tons more money on his current career path, but I wonder why he didn't go any further as a player.

    Wikipedia is here to help:
Boras played four years of minor league baseball for the St. Louis Cardinals and Chicago Cubs organizations.[6] Boras made the Florida State League All-Star team in 1976,[7] but knee problems shortened his career and he retired with a career batting average of .288.
