<< <i>How much money could something like this bring at auction? In my eyes, it's priceless. Amazing card!! >>
About 9 months ago a "9" went for $45,000.00 in a Heritage Auction. There are a lot of BIG NAMES WITH DEEP POCKETS on the '55 Registry. Would also like to see what this card brings if it ever goes on the auction block.
STAY HEALTHY!
Doug
Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.
I just think it's great that someone just got really wealthy if they want...hope it came to be for someone worthy. Great people in our hobby but also some jerks.

Wow, that's incredible, thanks for the info Doug. As someone stated above, I hope it is a board member that landed it. Would love to hear the back story on how this came to be, whether a crack and resub, a "raw find" etc. It's truely amazing to me that in this day and age in 2015, cards of this magnitude are still being "found" in this condition and it makes me wonder how much is still left out there to be found. In my mind, it's incredible that someone was able to preserve this, just as nice as the day it was printed, for the last 60 years!
MLBfan2 thanks for the information.
Always looking for OPC "tape intact" baseball wax boxes, and 1984 OPC baseball PSA 10's for my set. Please PM or email me if you have any available.

A Clemente PSA 10 sold for $432K. That was a pop 1 - the Koufax is pop 3. >>
The Clemente went for that in 2012. In today's market it's likely a 700-900k card. The person that owns it is a board member with an incredible collection. This Koufax is gorgeous. Even as a pop 3, this card could easily bring 300k+.
"My father would womanize, he would drink. He would make outrageous claims like he invented the question mark. Sometimes he would accuse chestnuts of being lazy. The sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament. Our childhood was typical. Summers in Rangoon, luge lessons. In the spring we'd make meat helmets. When we were insolent we were placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds - pretty standard really."

some person subbed it and landed the Loch Ness Monster. their worthiness notwithstanding.

I don't think anyone is saying "bad" guys when referring to anyone else. Just that it would be nice if someone on the home team popped it.
where do you find something like that?
