I have NEVER received any kind of bucks promo. I called a few weeks ago, and got a rep who sincerely empathized with my situation but claimed she had no control over it; that it was a random process.

I said if it's a random process, I guess I'm just the unluckiest Ebayer ever.

I've been an ebayer for over 10 years 100% positive and never gotten one. Unless I'm not looking in the right place... I assume they email you or something?

I'm not sure what usually happens, but I never got an email for the initial sign up (I did get an email for this promotion now that I'm signed up already). I just saw under a listing an unannounced link to a sign-up page saying the listing was eligible for ebay Bucks. I also wonder how random a process it is. I'm usually a small-timer when it comes to ebay purchases, but one day I made a purchase of more than $1000, and when I went back to that listing the next day, there was that sign-up link under the main listing box. A bit odd that it just happened to pop up the day after a big purchase if it's a random process.

Of course, I signed up, and you only get the bucks for items you pay for after you sign up. I had paid for that item the day before, so it looked like no bucks for the biggest purchase I'll probably ever make on ebay. I called ebay customer service, and they actually credited me the bucks for that purchase "as a courtesy." And I was on the phone less than 10 minutes. So score one for ebay customer service.
