ANYONE HAVE 1997 PF69 SBA/that warrants regrade?

Giveing up on trying to make or purchase a PCGS1979 SBA.. For 69's will not bring $20 on Ebay and 70's cannot be bought for $400 it does not make sense to me.....

I need one coin for type set and need to give up on trying to make one,so thought that if someone had a 69+++to sell, I would use one of my free submissions and try for a regrade.....

Thanks,Gary

You will be better off paying the $400 for a PR70 instead of trying to get a PR69 upgraded. The odds are out of sight at making a PR70 at PCGS you have a better chance of (1) Winning the lottery (2) Getting hit by lightling or (3) Finding the lost Dutchman mine. image Seriously if you really need one purchase it and you will save time and plenty of money.

    Gary,

Stick with the 69's. The odds of them being graded correctly are higher, and they are cheaper. Use the $380 difference to buy some different coins.

I agree with the above. I don't think PCGS would ever uprage a 69 and if you crack it out and resubmit in all likelyhood you will end up with a PR68. I own several PR70's and I don't think their worth the difference in price. Luckily I bought them relatively cheap a fews years ago.

If you decide to throw in the towel and buy one instead, let me know--I have one in available. PCGS is currently harder than ever on the 70s. So if you're going to keep trying, I'd at least wait a little while.

The PR70's are going out of sight in this series. Stick with the 69 , and listen to DRG . He's " THE MAN " for this series. Take a look at his AWESOME sets. The 69's WON'T upgrade. I have 70's in green holders that I don't ( am sure !! ) wouldn't grade 70 if I cracked them out and re-submitted them.

Then why not sell them and replace them with PR69s?

Gmarguli, Saying that I wouldn't pay to buy them now is different then wanting to sell the ones I already have. I am a collector not a dealer (primarily). I have opted not to put together a proof Ike set for the same reason.

  • Good correction "LORD",

I ment to type 1979 but got the numbers reversed.....
Thanks to everyone for your sincere and honest assessment of the SBA pr70's.....

Take Note "I for once, Agree With GREG ",and maybe PCGS should "Recall all proof 70's prior to 1998",for regrade, what do you think???????????
