    There's no VF auction history. Best guess is a couple hundred dollars.

    Most R4's don't command a premium in the current market. The variety only adds intrigue and, at best, might make it slightly easier to sell.

    With that said, I'd value it at $80-$120 depending on how nice it is.

    Great question ... too bad there is so little info. Dave Rutherford's database contains no info on this die marriage in VF for the past 10 years.

    Also, the current rarity is R4-, I believe. Since it's not a high-demand die marriage (not listed in the Red Book), it really won't command much of a premium over a common 1836 in VF.

    agreed, currently R-4's have almost no significant premium.

    and R-4- even less.

    The premiums currently being charged for R-5's are mostly dream land

    My first blush was $120 +/- with variance based on eye appeal and where she falls in the VF spectrum. A VF38 should flirt with EF money and at the other end similar result.
