I got this a few years back in a lot of cards. I always wondered if it was real? Any help?

Color difference in the Fleer premiere logo - needs to be two different shades of yellow
Decimal point in the scoring average between the 27 and the 2
Bull logo on back should have separation clearly defined especially in the eyes.
Thanks for the help everyone.
<< <i>27.2 is the dead giveaway here, as others said, you are good. >>
Not necessarily so. 27.2 is ONE way to spot a fake. However, some fakes have mastered the period, so unfortunately, that is not a foolproof way to spot a fake.

That's definitely true, but from the scan provided the card has passed the other 4 tests also.
1) fleer banner yellow and gold
2) bulls eyes are white (not fully colored in)
3) the basketball on reverse has lines showing through it (not fully colored in)
4) front registration isn't all foggy and snowy
If it is in fact a counterfeit, it is one hell of a counterfeit!
If the op is interested, here is the listing number to a counterfeit Jordan on ebay. 111581345571
Besides the banner being two different colors, the registration is one of the easiest ways to tell a counterfeit Jordan rookie.
<< <i>Why does the image look 'xeroxed' then? The image should be crisp and bright - not look like a photocopy. The net should be crisp, not all blurry and fuzzy. >>
bought in a lot few years ago, sounds like from someone who didn't necessarily know what they had, why would anyone take this card and counterfeit it and then bust up the corners and damage it like that?
really? you're skeptical of THIS CARD? Come on, man!

Even in "roughed" up shape, the card is still worth several hundred dollars ($400-$500 to be exact).
Forgive me for my ignorance - this is only one of the most faked cards on the market!! ROTFLMAO!
Not knocking the OP whatsoever. I hope for his sake it is real. But when you are dealing with one of the most faked cards in the hobby, the best way to get piece of mind is to send it in. The OP states he has no desire to do that, and that is cool. However, to quote Rick Harrison from Pawn Stars, "Just because you had the item in your collection a long time doesn't make it real".
I am not against grading by any means. Actually I like yo buy Psa 1s of vintage rookies. But I never sent anything in personally. Maybe I will finally take that leap!
<< <i>On a side note, I went to an auction many years ago. There were some cards bundled up. Low and behold, who did you find in the middle but a 1933 Goudey Babe Ruth card. Yes, the card was tucked away in the middle. Two "professionals" bid the lot up - cheap by authentic Babe Ruth standards, but expensive if the card was a worthless fake. What do you think the outcome of their "hidden gem" was??? If you are guessing "worthless fake" and the winning "expert" lost almost $1,000, then you would be right.

Good story but the OP's card is a Jordan, not a Ruth and went in a lot undisclosed for 12 bucks. Would be strange to counterfeit a card, bang it up and then bury it in a 12 dollar lot without telling anyone. Not the best get rich quick plan.

<< <i>Faking it to pull off the heist of the century at $12 doesn't seem plausible. >>
EXACTLY! Maybe I'll pay to send it in just to stop this silliness.

Nothing silly. One of the most faked cards in history. I am willing to bet that more fake cards exist of this card than real ones. The only one worse than this one is the 1952 Topps Mantle. If you want to pay half the $50 it will cost to grade, then I will pony up the other half.
<< <i>Maybe it's just my pic? I took it with my iPad. >>
Take another pic and then take a pic of a common from the same set. That way we can tell whether your pic is blurry, or the card is blurry.
And speaking of fakes, let's not forget about honus

I actually guessed a higher grade. Looks very solid for a 3 imo.
