    A loss for not only Cubs fan, but also for MLB and those who had the pleasure of meeting him.

    Great player who edged out Mays and Aaron for MVP in 1958 despite being on a team with a losing record, in fact the first to do so as I recall. Played 19 seasons for the same team, unlike the mercenaries of today. Great personality, great ambassador for the sport. No matter which team you root for, I think we can all be Cubs fans today. RIP

    As a Cardinal fan it is tough to not have Stan the Man around, I feel for the Cubby fans not having Mr. Banks as well. Both huge losses for all of baseball.
