A number of years ago I helped a friend sell his dad's coin collection that was part of his estate. This is one that was held back along with a number of other lib nix in a Whitman folder. I'll probably take it to our next coin club meeting and give it to the first YN who correctly guesses what a 1894 lib nik is worth, the right answer being 5 cents.
I've actually had stuff like this and would lay it on the ground outside a business entrance or on a sidewalk and watch from a distance! It's quite fun actually!
I routinely spend liberty nickels. Never had one recognized as I spent it. I like to think of the amazement someone will have dinging a 1905 coin in their change.
